I remember the first time I read The Hobbit. I believe it was 1966, perhaps as early as 1964, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. A friend of my mom’s (having heard me describe how much I liked science fiction) had recommended that I get it from the library. That comment, coming from an adult, received some quiet challenge from me, but I went and had it put on reserve. My turn came and I devoured it. I know I read through it at least 3 times over the years, it was that good.
Now comes the movie version. A bit backwards, as the trilogy has already come and gone from theatres. The trailer is below.

Plot:
